Shanghai foreign residents, or more specifically expats, have been requested to register as blood donors, to overcome the  shortage of  rare  blood types (Rh negative). Voyagius cannot overcome the feeling that this time coincides with the opening of the Olympics, but with a total donation of 100 liters from expats  in relation to 80.000 liters donated by local inhabitants, the request seems plausible.
